Beating the Bounds

On Saturday 10 November 2007 Scouts and Explorers from accross Avon Scouts walked the county boundary. Northwinds ESU joined up with the 209th Scout Troop to cover a section, south of Wotton-under-Edge, between Worcester Lodge and Oxleaze Farm.

More photos are available on the Avon Scouts Beating the Bounds webpage.

Message from Basil (Assistant County Commissioner for Explorers):
Well we did it, the boundary was covered between 7am and 4pm on Saturday.

A big thankyou to everybody who took part, be it walking, organising or supporting.

Plus a thankyou to Mike Banfield who initially worked out the route.

I managed to see teams from Cotswold edge, Brunel, Kingswood, Bath, Wansdyke and Bristol South and witnessed walkers from all sections.

Appologies to Gordano and Cabot, I simply ran out of time!

I think that the scarf might be a bit tight.....but at least he's quiet!

Packing away his things....

...while the others wait....

...still waiting!

This one is a nightmare for one of the Explorers!

I'll just check we're going the right way...

... Wake me up when we know which way to go.
